Themes & Colours:
When booking I ask about your choices of colour or themes and any items you would like including for the session, this will help me know what decorations to set up these can not be added after the shoot during editing, if you arrive at your session and do not like the set up or would like something adding or removing, please mention this at the time as this can not be rectified after, please let me know if baby if afraid of balloons.
I have a large selection of cake smash props to choose from. Take a look through my gallery for inspiration, I have colours for many set ups I can use and will always purchase something in if you have ideas. We can discuss what is available, some of the personalised items have been provided by parents. Balloons are NOT included as standard and must be requested if really wanted.
Pre-smash Portrait:
Please bring an outfit for baby for the portrait part of the session, this will take places at the start of the session, this is also the time I will include any parent or sibling shots if required.
The cake:
You must discuss what cake you want at time of booking or soon after.
The Session
On the day of the session please try to book around their nap times. This way they will be happy and well rested for thier session. Please bring water for baby & a snack if needed. If using your own outfit please bring a plastic bag to take it home. They can get really messy!
The Bath:
I have child bubble bath however feel free to bring your own if you prefer. Please bring a towel.
Parents:
Babies sometimes get upset or want cuddles, if they are covered in cake (which they usually are) then you will also get covered in cake! Please bring spare clothes fro yourself just in case.
Advice:
One thing I have learnt over the years is not all babies like smashing cakes (espceially the well behaved ones ;-), others love it. Quite often I'll give them a wooden spoon and they soon get the gist of it. It's importanmt to let them take their time and go with the flow.
